Our materials

Designed and made in Italy

Maanta shade sails are built to last, even in extreme conditions. That’s why we pair them with equally reliable shade sail poles. Every Maanta pole is developed in our R&D department, where our designers shape every detail using cutting-edge tools.

With Maanta, you’re not getting just basic steel poles for shade sails—you’re investing in purpose-built solutions designed for long-term durability. We use powder-coated aluminium poles, perfect for coastal environments thanks to their resistance to rust and salt. Galvanised steel offers superior structural strength in high-wind areas, while stainless steel guarantees top performance in marine settings.

All production takes place in Italy. We cut our DIY shade sail poles in-house using digital precision machinery and also manage coating, finishing and quality control—ensuring a product that fully matches the sails it supports.

Adjustable height, maximum tension, intuitive installation

Technology for your shade

All Maanta DIY shade sail poles are equipped with smartly engineered technologies to ensure strength, ease of use and precise adjustment. Designed to support high-performance sails, they offer a straightforward installation process and outstanding stability—even in multi-sail setups.

Easily adjust the height
Thanks to their adjustable anchor points, all Maanta poles allow you to quickly change the sail height, adapting the shaded area throughout the day and enhancing fabric tension based on weather conditions.

Tensioning system included
Each pole includes the advanced Muscle x3 Pole system, a pulley-based tensioning system that triples the force applied to the rope. It ensures stability even in challenging conditions, reduces effort and improves the overall safety of your sail.

Quick and versatile installation
Every Maanta pole can be installed on different surfaces easily and cleanly. Simply fix the base plate to the ground, a wall or an existing low wall: a fast and reliable solution that requires no major building work.

Where to install them?

Shade sail poles for every type of space

In addition to our high-quality wall fixings, Maanta shade sail posts are precisely engineered for both residential and commercial applications. Installation of our aluminium shade sail poles can be carried out in three ways:

pole-with-ground-base

In the ground

The poles can be installed on concrete surfaces at least 10 cm thick or on dedicated footings measuring 60×60×60 cm. This is a stable and permanent solution for gardens, courtyards and outdoor spaces that are already prepared for installation.

pole-with-wall-anchor

On the wall

You can install the poles using a collar mount or opt for the Inclined Balcony version—both ideal for terraces and balconies. They secure firmly to existing low walls, avoiding any invasive work on the structure.

easy-ballast-removable-base

With mobile base

Easy Ballast allows you to use poles without drilling or concrete. Ideal for terraces, patios and delicate surfaces, it’s a removable solution that’s both stable and visually refined.

Each configuration ensures precision, reliability and ease of installation—perfect even for those looking for DIY shade sail poles, while still enjoying professional-grade design quality.

Why choose Maanta?

Design and details that make a difference

Maanta aluminium shade sail poles are the result of a perfect blend of engineering and design. Available in different inclinations—75°, 90°, wall collar or Inclined Balcony—they offer exclusive design solutions tailored to your space.

Inclined Balcony

We’re the only ones to offer poles with multiple inclinations—a refined aesthetic choice, but also a technical one. The angled design helps balance sail tension, creating an equilibrium of opposing forces that enhances both structural performance and visual harmony.

Every detail is designed to elevate your space: clean lines, balanced proportions and precise finishes. Maanta pole colours are inspired by natural materials such as sand, stone and metal, blending beautifully with the environment and the sail fabrics.

Dark corten evokes industrial warmth, anthracite enhances modern spaces, while silver and stainless steel bring subtle elegance to marine or technical settings. Each shade creates continuity between structure and sail, turning anchoring into a true design element.

FAQ

What’s included with the poles?

Each Maanta shade sail pole includes the following accessories:

- A sturdy 10 mm thick steel ground base (or wall collars)
- A stainless steel Muscle Pole kit for anchoring and tensioning
- All necessary bolts and hardware for installation (excluding threaded rods for ground/wall anchoring)

What’s the advantage of Maanta poles?

The tensile strength of the sail. A shade sail—especially a large one—can exert a force of around 45–50 kg. A good anchoring system must therefore withstand not only the tension of the sail but also weather elements like wind and rain. In contrast, poles commonly found on the market and major marketplaces may be inexpensive, but they’re also poorly resistant. With just a few centimetres in diameter, tensioning a sail becomes impossible—compromising not only the success of the project but also the safety of the entire structure.

Maanta shade sail poles are designed to be highly functional. Thanks to our technology, we’ve developed poles that allow you to tilt your shade sail as needed.

Alu Simple, our premium-grade aluminium pole, features two tracks for multi-sail anchoring. The Ulisse pole, made of galvanised steel, offers as many as six anchoring points. This makes it possible to create shade at any time of day—even when the sun is low. And especially for waterproof shade sails, a good angle is essential to allow water runoff and ensure protection from rain!

What’s the difference between the 75 and 90 poles?

The difference between 75° and 90° poles is mainly aesthetic. However, it’s worth noting that a 75° inclined pole helps recover the space needed for proper tensioning. This means that with a 75° pole, the sail can cover a larger area compared to a 90° pole, as it can be positioned closer to the base of the pole.

Where can a pole with collar be installed?

Wall-mounting a pole is only possible if there is at least 30 cm of space between the two collars. Therefore, the low wall where the pole is to be fixed must be at least 45–50 cm high.

Are the poles saltwater resistant?

The highest resistance to salt corrosion is offered by the Alu Simple powder-coated aluminium shade sail poles, a material that makes them immune to rust and marine elements. Also excellent is the EZ Mast in stainless steel, ideal for installations in coastal or particularly humid environments.

Alu Simple is available in three versions: with a 90° base, a 75° inclined base, or with wall-mounting collars.

Can poles be custom made?

No, Maanta poles are only available in standard sizes: 290 cm for Alu Simple and 275 cm for Ulisse. However, the Alu Simple model can be extended up to 390 cm using the Alu Simple Extension. This extension allows you to increase the pole's height, providing better sail inclination and improved water runoff management.

Can I cut the poles?

We strongly advise against this operation, and if you choose to proceed, we cannot guarantee a successful outcome. This is especially true for galvanised poles, as cutting them would compromise the protective zinc coating—leading to rust formation.

What’s included in the price?

Maanta pole prices refer to a single pole. Whether it's EZ Mast, Ulisse or Alu Simple, all our poles include: a ground base or wall collars (for the wall-mounted version), all necessary mounting hardware (excluding threaded rods, which can be purchased here), and the exclusive Muscle Pole Kit to anchor the sail with triple tension.

Can I plant a pole in sand/soil?

No, Maanta poles are supplied exclusively in standard sizes: 290 cm for Alu Simple and 275 cm for Ulisse. However, the Alu Simple model can be extended up to 390 cm using the Alu Simple Extension. This extension allows you to increase the pole's height, providing better sail inclination and improved water runoff management.

Can I install poles on the terrace?

Yes, installation on terraces and balconies is possible—but only with specific configurations. Wall collar poles can be fixed to a low wall at least 45 cm high, either inside or outside the terrace. Alternatively, the Inclined Balcony version (with an 80° inclination) is ideal for balconies, terraces or very low walls: it anchors to the balcony fascia and allows you to optimise the sail’s position, even in compact or complex spaces.

Installing poles with a ground base is not recommended, as it may damage the waterproof membrane and compromise the structural integrity of your home.

Who should I contact for installation?

Maanta DIY shade sail poles are designed for easy and intuitive installation. No specialised labour is required: thanks to our smart fixing systems, you can install them yourself on terraces, in gardens or on walls—with precision and confidence.

What are the delivery costs and shipping times?

Maanta poles are shipped via express courier, allowing for delivery within 48–72 hours at the low cost of just €7.95.

How many sails can be installed on one pole?

All Maanta poles support the installation of multiple sails on the same structure. Alu Simple, Ulisse and EZ Mast offer several anchor points, ideal for complex configurations.

For large sails or high-tension installations, we recommend two strategic accessories: the rear bracing system, which enhances structural stability, and the Alu Simple Extension, which raises the Alu Simple pole by 1 metre, optimising inclination and tension, and facilitating water runoff during rain.

Can I buy accessories?

Absolutely, you can find them here.
