Features you usually find on high-end shade sails are available on the EZ Breez Furl at entry-level price. The heart of the system is the DSS patent, the diagonal strap that stabilises the shade sail.
Two technologies work around it: with S-GRIPP you roll up the shade sail on itself in 90 seconds, using a single rope and no motors, while the carbon fibre-reinforced nylon makes the mechanisms lightweight and durable, built to last season after season.

The DSS diagonal strap, a registered patent, runs across the shade sail from corner to corner: it distributes tension evenly and prevents the fabric from sagging.
Pull the rope and the shade sail rolls up on itself, with no motors or mechanical complexity: a gesture that becomes natural after the first time.
Hail-resistant, with anti-mould and anti-stain treatment, it is 58% more resistant than competing fabrics in this price range.
S-GRIPP technology: the S-shaped groove in the furler body locks the rope mechanically. No slipping: smooth furling with every manoeuvre.
Carbon fibre in the nylon resists UV rays and weathering. It does not rust and requires no lubrication. Total kit weight: 750 grams.
6 mm rope with a loop end, hand-spliced. The same technique used in sport sailing to ensure hold and smooth running with every manoeuvre.
The Furl system is entirely designed and developed by Maanta's Research and Development team, in Italy. Before reaching your home, it underwent over 5,000 opening and closing cycles in the laboratory, along with accelerated wear tests, UV exposure and mechanical stress testing. What remains is a mechanism built to last season after season.

Shade sail in 285 gsm micro-perforated HDPE with Cross Cut design, featuring a reinforcement layer on each corner and elastic zigzag stitching, in your chosen colour.
Complete kit including the winding shaft body, swivel, nautical rope and everything you need for fixing.
Step-by-step illustrated guide for every stage of the installation, which can be completed in just a few hours using everyday household tools.
EZ Breez Furl Traspirante is the rollable version of the entry-level breathable shade sail with DSS patent. The 285 gsm micro-perforated HDPE fabric provides shade while letting the breeze flow through, while the EZ Furl kit allows you to furl it in just 90 seconds — no motors needed.
The breathable version uses micro-perforated HDPE: it allows air to circulate and reduces the perceived temperature beneath the shade sail, but it won't hold back rain. The waterproof version features sealed seams and keeps water out entirely. If your main goal is comfort on warm days in your British garden or terrace, the breathable option is the right choice.
EZ Breez Furl Breathable is available in all standard EZ Breez sizes compatible with the EZ Furl kit, covering surfaces up to 20 m². The standard EZ Breez shade sail reaches up to 30 m², but the winding shaft kit has a maximum limit of 20 m².
It is not designed for that: the microperforated fabric allows water to pass through. In light rain, droplets disperse through the micropores without pooling. For full rain protection, we recommend the waterproof EZ Breez Furl version.
The HDPE fabric is resistant to UV rays and temperature fluctuations. In autumn and winter, we recommend rolling up your shade sail on days of strong winds or bad weather: with EZ Furl it takes just 90 seconds, protecting the fabric and extending its lifespan.
Waterproof polyester is a coated fabric: it achieves its water resistance from a continuous coating, not from the weight of the yarn. That is why 220 gsm is sufficient. Breathable HDPE, on the other hand, owes its strength to the density of the weave: the tighter the mesh, the higher the gsm. The 285 gsm of the breathable version represents the highest weight in its category, well above the standard 180 gsm of entry-level options.
The benefit depends on the natural breeze in your surroundings. Even with a light airflow, the microperforated fabric creates an evaporative cooling effect that can reduce the perceived temperature by 3–6°C compared to a fully exposed sunny area, and by 1–3°C compared to a waterproof shade sail under the same conditions.
DSS (Diagonal Stability Support) is the diagonal webbing strap that runs corner to corner across the shade sail. It eliminates lift – the phenomenon that causes standard shade sails to billow and flap in the wind like a nautical sail, placing stress on the seams and anchor points. With DSS, the shade sail stays flat and taut even in gusting conditions.
No. HDPE pigments are solution-dyed during yarn production, not applied to the surface. The colour is an integral part of the fibre itself and does not fade with UV exposure, even after years of outdoor use.
No. Carbon-reinforced nylon contains no exposed metal parts and resists UV rays without degrading. It requires no lubrication or seasonal maintenance, and performs reliably even in coastal environments with high salt exposure — making it a practical choice for British gardens and terraces near the sea.
Around 2 hours, working at a comfortable pace and following the illustrated instructions included. You'll only need basic household tools: a screwdriver, a spanner, and a drill for fixing any wall plates. No professional installer required.
No. Anchor poles and wall plates are chosen based on your specific installation. On the Maanta website you'll find the EZ Mast Pole and the EZ Wall Fix Kit, designed to work together with EZ Breez Furl.
Yes. If you already have a fixed EZ Breez Breathable shade sail, you can purchase the EZ Furl kit separately. Simply detach one corner of the shade sail, fit the furler, and reassemble – no need to remove the entire installation.
Very simple: pull the 6 mm nautical rope in one direction and the shade sail gradually rolls up on itself. The furler's S-GRIPP technology keeps the rope in place without you having to hold it. In 90 seconds it's furled, and in another 90 it's open again.
The DSS significantly reduces lift, but in strong wind conditions we recommend furling your shade sail. With EZ Furl, it takes just 90 seconds: it's the most effective way to protect both the fabric and the anchoring structure.
2 years from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects and malfunctions of the components included in the EZ Furl kit.
